Funding the Future.
Alyeska Ski & Snowboard Club has been
around for forty years! It has bettered the lives of thousands of children and
young adults. We use winter sports as a way to help educate a child, to promote
exploration, and produce citizens who will have a transforming influence in our
world. Our volunteer's, staff and coaches are positive role models who strive
to instill the values of commitment, teamwork, discipline and citizenship in
each individual.
Each year is challenging for our organization. As the
Not-for-Profit community is growing we must find new and creative ways to
underwrite the future, and fulfill our mandate to keep our programs costs to
families as low as possible.
ASSC offers several tax-deductible
underwriting opportunities. Our goal for 2007-2008 is to raise $250,000 so that
we make lay the first of many solid cornerstones that will support our program’s
future.
Alyeska Ski & Snowboard Club is a Not-for-Profit

The Brian Russell Memorial

tragic passing of Brian Russell at age 16. Brian competed for and represented
the Alyeska Ski Club at local and national alpine events. Brian was an
outstanding athlete, an avid skier and alpine ski racer, and an excellent
student. In his memory, the Alyeska Ski and Snowboard Club and Glacier Valley
Ski Education Foundation have established a scholarship fund in his name. The
mission of the Brian Russell Memorial Fund is to promote and inspire the love of
junior ski racing and provide financial support to developing junior ski racers.
The Fund is structured so that athletes age 15 and older are encouraged to be
active in year-round training and racing, maintain 3.0 GPA’s or better, be
positive role models and remain drug and alcohol free.
The Tanaka Foundation
The Tanaka Foundation is a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation founded in the memory of Jim Tanaka. The foundation is a very important partner of the Alyeska Ski Club. It has produced and owns hill infrastructure (Tanaka Lift, snowmaking and lighting systems on Tanaka Hill), and was the prime fundraising entity for the recent RTC Center expansion project. The Tanaka Foundation is committed to supporting youth ski racing in Alaska.
