ASSC Club Van Ridership Information

The ASSC Junior Program has a 15 passenger van.  The van was purchased through an incredible fundraising effort by the president and his board of directors.  A huge THANK YOU goes out to all those who made this acquisition possible.

The van was purchased to provide free transportation to full time athletes who previously had to pay large sums of money for transportation or not participate as full time athletes at all.  We hope to make training more affordable and accessible to our full time athletes who have committed so much time and energy to ski racing themselves.

The van will be filled with full time athletes first, on a first come first serve basis.  If there are still seats available, those will be filled by three day athletes on a first come first serve basis.  We don’t anticipate having additional seats, but if there are any available, they will go to weekend athletes on a first come first serve basis. All athletes should call the RTC Office at 783-2166, to reserve a seat.

We ask that if an athlete riding the van decides not to ride on a particular day, that they call the RTC Office at 783-2166 and leave a message canceling their reservation. We appreciate receiving cancellations at least 24 hours in advance.  We can then access a stand-by list and notify other athletes that a seat will be available.  If an athlete “no-shows” three or more times, they will permanently loose their seat to the next stand-by athlete.

Behavior

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated on the van and be grounds for immediate loss of van privileges.  The lost seat will then be given to the next stand by athlete.  Warnings will not be given and the first offense will result in a one-week suspension.  The second offense will result in a permanent expulsion from the van.  Inappropriate behavior consists of but is not limited to:  swearing, rough-housing, yelling, interfering with the driver, taunting or teasing other athletes, damaging in any way the interior or exterior of the van, or refusing the instructions of the driver or coach. There is no eating allowed in the van.

Schedules

The van will leave the Peter Glenn parking lot at 2:30 sharp – Wednesday through Friday. The van will not wait for late arrivals to departure locations.  The ski van will return to Peter Glenn at 7:15.  Return times may vary depending upon training.  All athletes and parents will be notified 24 hours prior to any schedule changes.  Information regarding daily training and van information will be available on the Junior Program Hotline (783-2160 ext. 3).  On weekends, holidays, and race days the van will depart Peter Glenn at 7:45 am.  This will allow athletes to be at the RTC in time for warm-up and early ride.  Again, schedule changes will be posted on the hotline.
